1st Year Boys Rugby Match vs Presentation College Carlow

On Wednesday the 5th of March our First Year Boys Rugby Team took on a strong Presentation College Carlow side. The lads made their way down to Greystones Rugby Club for a 11:20 warm up. A special thanks to our dedicated TY coaches, Joe Kavanagh and Aaron Doherty, for accompanying the boys. After a brief yet motivating team talk with Mr Davies the lads were ready for the 11:55 kick off.

From the first whistle this was a tough game for David’s, with Carlow having a lot of success

attacking. Whilst David’s will rue a few handling errors and missed tackles, they stood strong,  not letting their heads drop. There were some successful counter attacks going into halftime.

The second half started and it was more of the same with Carlow dominating David’s in attack. However, about halfway into the second half Andrew McCarron scored 2 incredible tries in 2 minutes and Sam Large converted both times comfortably. Then about 5 minutes later Sam Large capitalised on one of Carlow's mistakes and got a try.

Full time whistle blew at 13:00pm and although the lads didn't win they made St David’s proud with their resilience against a tough side. A special mention to Andrew McCarron, Sam Large and Liam Waters for their outstanding performances.
