1st Year Boys' Rugby vs Oatlands

Mr Davies’ first year rugby team had a great game of rugby against Oatlands college on Tuesday the 22nd of October. St David’s crossed the white line first , propelling the team to a 5-0 lead. However, Oatlands come straight back with a converted try thanks to their scrum half, leaving David’s facing a 5-7 Oatlands deficit. David’s replied with a typical response, scoring try just before halftime, taking a 10-7 lead. Oatlands had a chance to score just before the break with a strong attack but knocked on just before the try line, leading to a halftime score of David’s 10-7 Oatlands.

Oatlands opened the second half with an early score, as David’s now trailed 10-12. David's immediately replied with a well worked try converted by the David's out half, leading to a 5 point advantage. David's added to their score with another try to double their advantage. With the momentum on their side, David's ran in another try under the posts which was also converted. Oatlands stemmed to tide with a much needed converted try, swinging the momentum their way once more. They once again capitalised with a further try, as David’s lead was narrowed to 29-24. However, this proved to be the final chapter in a wildly entertaining match as David's ran out worthy winners.
