On the 10th of January the first year boys football team came up against Woodbrook College in a great display of individual talent and great team play. The game kicked off at exactly 10:30am. The boys got off to a great start with great counterattacks and passing plays. The midfield did a great job of distributing balls to the strikers Cian Fickett and Dylan Hatton. By half time the boys were 5 to 1 up.
Mr Cahill said some great inspirational words at half time which riled up the players to come out even stronger in the second half. It was a complete blowout in the second half with the St Davids boys dominating attack after attack. Cian Fickett had a stellar performance with a sensational 8 goals and 5 assists, one was a rocket into the top left corner.
The final score was 15-1. Goals were scored by
Cian Fickett(8),
Dylan Hatton(3)
Conor Shevlin(1)
Body Kelly Wood(1)
Ewan Darcy(1)
Fionn Clark Twomey(1)
Overall a great performance from the whole team. The boys are now focusing on winning their next match in the following weeks.
