1st Year Girl's Soccer vs Gaelcholáiste na Mara

Our 1st Year Girl's soccer team faced Gaelcholáiste Na Mara on the 31st of January, led by their coach, Ms Coleman.

The match was off to a great start with a fantastic freekick goal from Saoirse Gallagher Brennan early in the match. The St David's team held their lead with great defending and passing brilliance all-round but were unlucky to concede a goal, equalising the game. Katelyn Giles scored a brilliant goal to put St David’s in a winning position just before the half-time whistle blew.

Soon after the second half kicked off, Katelyn Giles scored another stunning goal to make it 3-1 to St David’s. Gaelcholáiste stepped up their game and scored 2 goals in short succession. St David’s were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game and the goal was converted calmly by Sienna Van Den Berg with the very last kick of the game, winning it for St David’s in an intense ending.

It was a great game and the girls should be proud of themselves! A big thanks to Ms Coleman for coaching the team.
