On Monday the 25th of November our first year girls GAA team took on very strong Coláiste Ráithín team away in Bray. The match kicked off at 10 am sharp despite the freezing cold conditions.
The match started out with a fierce battle between the two sides with Coláiste Ráithín taking an early lead with a goal and a point. Despite the early lead the David's girls put up a fight and came back 1-1 to 1-1. Unfortunately, Coláiste Ráithín took the lead approaching half time.
A few changes at half time and an encouraging team talk meant that David's were feeling better, and were able to keep their heads up and keep going. Despite this it was very hard for the girls to get back in the game and unfortunately Coláiste Ráithín remained in the lead. Despite this, Aoibhe Wiley and Robyn Deery didn't stop fighting and kept the team going right until the end scoring excellent points and goals.
A big well done to all the girls and their coach Ms O’Gorman for their efforts and their determination to keep fighting. There girls should be proud of their performance and team-work.
