On Thursday 9th of January, our First Year Girls, led by their coach Ms. Coleman and assistant coach Sophia Singh, took on rivals Temple Carrig in their second cup match. The match was played in the home ground of Greystones United Football Club.
St David’s held the ball throughout the first half of the match and got close to scoring a few times. The Temple Carrig defense was very strong and held the strikers off many times.
The second half proved a bit more challenging, unfortunately the St David's girls did not maintain a lot of possession in this half. The defense stood strong, only letting very few opportunities slip by them. A special mention to the entire defensive line; it wasn’t easy but these girls prevented many scoring opportunities from the opposition.
Everyone had a brilliant performance. The girls didn’t win but very much improved, from their last game with the same side a few months ago. We are confident that they will just keep getting stronger. Well done girls!
