April Whole School Assembly

On the 7th of April, we held our sixth whole school assembly. We covered a wide variety of topics but we began with Mr Carey welcoming everyone to our whole school assembly. This was then followed by TY student Lisa Phelan who delivered an opening prayer which then led to our wonderful Head Boy and Head Girl, Colm O'Neil and Aoife Ryan who welcomed our school community.


We then moved forward with Mr Carey and Ms O’Sullivan awarding certificates to many of our students from arts, sports and other areas of achievement. Well done to everyone who received a certificate!

Sean Costello, a Transition Year student and a member of the Ethos team with school, spoke to our school about what the ethos team has been getting up to since the beginning of 2025.


Afterwards we moved on to sports. Mr Brady and a selection of students spoke about sports that are going on with a variety of our sports teams and matches that have been played. Well done to all the participants! Ms Cronly and a few students then spoke about our Arts programme and caught our school community up to date about events like the Transition Year musical and Wesley college music festival that have been taking place over the course of 2025.


We then moved onward and Ms Doughty informed our students and staff about our new AS class and sensory cubby which included its functions as well as how it works. Mia Williams, a co-president of the Young SVP then spoke about upcoming events for the SVP group as well as new initiatives that they are working on like the clothes drive. Afterwards, coordinators of our upcoming Transition Year trip to Italy and 5th year trip to Iceland spoke with our students about new information regarding the trips.

Mr Carey then gave a brief mention to our students about proper uniform and behaviour expected in our school.


Ms O’Sullivan and Mr Doyle then informed our students about new books that will be allocated to them at the beginning of the new academic year 2026-27. And to wrap up are 6th whole school assembly Mr Carey spoke about study that will take place over the Easter holidays and our penultimate whole school assembly of this year was concluded.
