Last week our Transition Year students took part in a truly unique experience: the opportunity to channel their inner clown. All students embarked on a circus skills workshop, acquiring new abilities they never knew they possessed. Students were eased into the circus lifestyle with hula hooping and skipping, before the difficulty was amped up with the ever-challenging balloon making. Swords proved to be the balloon creation of choice though some mastered the art of bear making (some balloons may have been sacrificed on the way).
Students were then tasked with the harder skills such as juggling, spinning plates on sticks and juggling flower sticks, highlighting a number of natural theatrical performers in the process. Beyond the challenge, the workshop gave each base class the opportunity to bond with one another. Students enjoyed the friendly competition against each other, while gaining new experiences and skills.
