Creative Writing Workshop

The Creative Writing Club (Create Club) along with a group of Transition Year Library Committee students, took part in an animated and engaging workshop led by local author and graphic novelist Alan Nolan, who has written several popular books for children.

The students were captivated as Alan shared the inspiring story of how he became an author and illustrator, discussed the journey behind his books and revealed details about his newest book ‘The Riddle of the Disappearing Dickens' featuring Molly Malone & Bram Stoker. In addition to exploring creative writing, the students enjoyed a drawing activity where Alan gave an illustration demonstration of Myrtle the parrot, one of the characters in his newest book.

The workshop was a memorable experience, and all the students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from such a talented and passionate writer with one participating student calling it “so fun and incredibly insightful”.
