Last Wednesday, the 4th of December the Junior Boys led by Mr. Crowe headed down to Eire Óg to play against the Wexford team, Coláiste Abbain. It was a very windy day with heavy rain kicking in in the second half. These harsh conditions made the game even harder for the lads. The team was captained by Cillian Brady.
Opening the game, Conor O’ Sullivan scored a point and a goal in quick succession. More great goals and points were scored from Rory Coyle, Dan Farrell and Conor Lehane. There was also an impressive penalty from Cillian Brady. At the end of the half the score was 3-3 (12) Davids to 2-7 (13) Colaiste Abbain. This half was very close and nerve-wracking to watch.
The second half didn't go too well for the lads as the weather worsened. Dean Barry got a point for David's near the end of the game. Unfortunately this wasn't enough for the lad to pull the game back as Colaiste Abbain scored multiple goals and points.
There were great performances by everyone on the team. The game ended 3-4 to David's and 4-12 to Coláiste Abbain. The score does not reflect the game as the lads left all they had on the pitch.
Well done lads, best of luck for the rest of your games!
