Our Junior Boys' Gaelic team gave us an outstanding performance earlier this week in Bray Emmets where they played Gaelcholáiste na Mara on Monday the 24th of February.
It was a thriller of a game with both sides being very close for the majority of the match. It was a tough first half for the lads but they battled hard. David's came in at half time 4 points down with the score being 2-4 to 3-5.
Our lads went out with the wind behind their backs, giving them an extra boost to kick on for the second half. The lads were two points down with 10 minutes to go when Luke Murphy came off the bench. They worked the ball well up into the full forward line with the whole team from the fullback line to the full forward line getting involved. Luke Murphy got the ball and with an excellent pass over the top popped it off to Patrick O’Boyle who finished strongly with a shot straight into the bottom right top corner of the goal.
After this our lads were in front by 1 point but not for long as many more scores were to come from Cillian Brady, Connor O’Sullivan, Patrick O’Boyle and Sean Griffin to secure there win with the final score being St David’s 7-7 : 5-7 Gaelcholáiste na Mara.
Well done lads and thank you to their coach Mr Crowe!
