On the 28th of November the Junior Girls, led by Mr. Geoghegan, made their way down to the Greystones United Football Club to play against Woodbrook College. It was a very cold and windy day but the girls powered through it.
Opening the game Laoise O’ Gorman scored 2 amazing goals in quick succession. For David’s, it was a very dominant game in the first half, with Laoise scoring a very skillful goal to complete the hat trick by dribbling past the keeper and slotting it in the goal. At the end of the first half, Alannah Synnott scored to increase the lead to 4-0 to David’s.
The second half of the game was a lot tougher for the girls as Woodbrook College wanted to make a comeback, performing much better than they did in the first half. David’s didn't let this get to them and they stayed composed for the rest of the game not conceding a single goal and winning the game 4-0!
Overall it was a brilliant performance from the girls and they should all be very proud of themselves. Well done girls on the amazing win.
A big thanks to their coach, Mr. Geoghegan
