On Tuesday the 25th of March the Minor Girls' soccer team travelled to Raheny to play Manor House in what was a very exciting match. The girls had shown good form this season and were keen to see their hard work and training sessions pay off on the pitch.
The game was very level from the off, as both sides enjoyed relatively even spells of possession throughout the first half. However, despite the tense dynamic and finely-poised game that was unfolding, our girls engineered the first big chance of the game, allowing Emily O Driscoll to score the first goal.
However, Manor House didn’t let that get to them, and continued fighting. A staunch St David’s defence did themselves proud, knowing that if they could just keep the opposition they could close out a vital win. Doggedly defending throughout the second half, the Greystones side managed to preserve their lead through to the final whistle.
The score was 1-0 at full time. Both teams put up a good fight but in the end our girls came out on top!
