Senior Boys Soccer

On the 7th of January our Senior boys soccer team, led by their coach Mr. Doyle, faced Gorey Community School in the Wicklow-Wexford Cup quarter-final.

St. David's held their own in the first half of the game with defensive brilliance and attacking determination. The harsh conditions in Arklow made it a tough game to play. The game was back to back and ended 0-0 at half time, thanks to great defense from the lads and some great saves from Oisin Waters.

Early in the second half, Gorey opened up the scoring to make it 1-0. St. David's worked hard and were determined to equalise, succeeding soon after with a great goal from Max Synnott and assist from Mika Peterson. St. David's were unlucky to concede 2 goals after, but they came very close to scoring on multiple occasions. The game finished 3-1 to Gorey community school in an enthralling game of soccer.

With an unlucky loss, the lads will be disappointed but they had outstanding performances and won’t hesitate to bounce back from this loss in the future. Thanks to Mr. Doyle for coming and coaching the lads!
