On Friday the 31st of January the Senior Girls Soccer team travelled the short journey into Bray to play Coláiste Ráithín on the opposition's home turf.
St. David's had a strong opening 20 minutes creating many chances. Unfortunately, Coláiste Ráithín scored from a free kick into the box in the 30th minute of the game. As the first half came to an end the girls were down by a goal despite the great effort put in.
The second half started and David's scored from a long ball in by Aaliyah Condron and a great finish from Laoise O' Gorman. Despite some great defence from David's, Coláiste Ráithín managed to break through in the last 10 mins finishing with a goal.
The girls put immense pressure on the opposition's defence in the last few minutes pushing for an equaliser. Unfortunately there was not enough time and the match ended 2-1, in favour of Coláiste Ráithín.
The girls should be very proud of themselves and their performance. and special shout out to goalkeeper Rebecca Howard who had some excellent saves!
A big thank you to Mr O'Donnchadha for coaching the girls.
