On Wednesday the 18th of December our junior boys rugby team took on a strong Donabate team. The match kicked off at 12 PM sharp in Greystones Rugby Club.
The match started with David’s taking an early lead by Kai Hardy scoring a try and Dafydd Davies making the conversion. Unfortunately, shortly after Donabate scored a try and a conversion making it level at 7-7. The lads didn’t let this affect them however, a great run from Matthew Evans let David’s take a comfortable lead. They increased their lead and by half-time the score was 35-7.
At half time David’s coach, Mr. Cahill, gave an inspiring team talk letting the lads know how well they were playing. The lads went into the second half determined to stay ahead and see the game out. However, Donabate scored another try but St David’s remained in the lead. Standout players were Dafyyd Davies for his conversions and Matthew Evens for his great runs.
All the lads fought hard and the victory was well deserved. The final score was 42-14 to David’s.
A massive thank you to their coach, Mr.Cahill!
