Women in Faith

As part of an ongoing initiative between the different Christian Churches in the Holy Rosary Parish/Greystones Kilquade Pastoral Area, there was a wonderful gathering celebrating International Women's Day which took place on Friday, 7 March 2025.

Five of the Fifth Year students attended. The event was open to everyone and addressed the theme of equality through peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness.

Keynote speakers at the event include Patricia Coyle, Director of. Communications for the Irish Jesuits as well as an award winning journalist. with RTE, BBC and UTV, and Fr. Damien Farnon, Chaplain to the Irish Defence Forces with overseas experience in the Middle East. He is based in McKee Barracks, Dublin.

Pat Coyle shared insights from her background in philosophy, journalism, and spiritual leadership and its meaning for everyday life, while Fr. Damien Farnon discussed his experiences on two overseas missions with the Defence Forces with UNIFIL in Lebanon and the role of chaplaincy in providing moral, pastoral, and practical support.

Thank you to Evelyn Cawley, Elaine O'Brien and their team who organised a most inspiring event.
